Wedding Co-ordinator saves the day!

On July 22nd Ceri and Dave were all ready to say their vows with a beautiful outside ceremony at noon but at 11.55 only one registrar had turned up and there was no sign from the other who was conducting the wedding. The owner and wedding coordinator Julia Pugh refused to have the wedding cancelled and offered to step in and marry them both. 

Garthmyl Hall on the Powys and Shropshire borders is a brand new Exclusive hire wedding venue, offering the day that the couple want not what we dictate. We believe in going above and beyond for our couples and this wedding really proved that! It was only the halls 4th wedding as they only opened late April this year.

Julia has been planning weddings and events for over 6 years so has seen many weddings so sort of knew what was expected from the ceremony, but most of all she wanted to make sure Ceri and Dave had the day they had dreamt of, after all what sort of wedding is a wedding with out a ceremony!

After many failed attempts to get through to the registrar and the head offices Julia went and had a chat with the bride Ceri to see if she would be happy for her to step in. -“When you first discovered that the registrar hadn’t turned up how did you feel?”

Ceri “I thought oh god what's going to happen!!!! I was rather panicked as I didn't think the wedding would go ahead”

Ceri was ready and had been for over an hour by now with her bridesmaid, flower girl and page boy who may I add are two so you can imagine how easily distracted toddlers are under a stressful situation. She was cool as a cucumber, nothing phased her at all. Julia made sure she was very calm and reassuring. “When Julia, the wedding co-ordinator at Garthmyl offered to step in what was running through your head?”

Ceri “Julia you are a saint and we will never be able to thank you enough for stepping in and taking the ceremony. On reflection, it made our marriage all the more special as Julia had helped us organise so many different things do it was just the icing on the cake!”

As we all made it down to the aisle the nerves were kicking in as Julia hadn’t had time to read though the lines in this little black book! The other registrar Hayley was lovely and made sure everything was done legally and officially so that made her feel more confident. 

Looking back it was a wonderful experience to have experienced as Ceri and Dave had been the second couple to book at the hall when it was a total building site, all they had to go by was Julia’s vision and some mood boards! They never doubted her and saw the hall through each aspect of transformation. “What would you say about Garthmyl Hall as a new wedding venue and he service that was provided for you?”

Ceri “Julia and staff were absolutely fantastic and not only helped the day run smoothly but ensured the lead up was also calm! The professionalism was outstanding, Julia's ideas and suggestions were next to none and not only did Dave and I have a wedding co-ordinator in Julia we also made a new friend. From the bottom of my heart you were truly amazing from beginning to end. Everything you mentioned and promised was delivered with no issues, you made everything stress free and marrying both Dave and I was just extra special to us.”
