It may already be December, but according to The Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott’s Wedding Coordinator, it’s not too late to tie the knot and have a Christmas wedding.
Ms Holly Manning, has learned a few tricks of the trade during her time in the hospitality and wedding industry. One of those tricks is how to plan a wedding in the build up to Christmas - and with the festive season offering the perfect setting for a beautiful Big Day, there’s no better time to start the planning process.
Here, Holly shares her top tips for turning a beautiful wedding around in time for the most magical time of year: so you have a Christmas wedding
Create a checklist and stick to it - The first step in the planning process is to create a detailed checklist with actions and dates tasks should be completed by. Due to the short time-frame you’ll need to set a completion date for each task and make sure you stick to it. Be strict with yourself but remember to have fun with it too.
Seek help with the planning - With only weeks to plan the big day, it’s a good idea to pull in additional help by asking a family member or close friend to assist you with the organisation and planning. Choose someone who knows you inside out and you trust to get tasks right, delivering what’s needed on time. A strong support network is vital when organising a wedding before Christmas.
Make sure it is the wedding of your dreams – Decide what you and your partner would like and stick to it. One big mistake many couples make is trying to please everyone; remember it’s your day so do what makes you happy so you remember what a special time it was!
Simple is effective - It can be easy to get carried away with elaborate decorations but in my experience, less is always more. Don’t get caught up in the small details as it can waste valuable planning time. A simple wedding doesn’t necessarily mean a boring wedding!
Take a moment to enjoy the big day – Whether you’ve planned your wedding in three years or three weeks, it will fly by. Take a minute to sit back and enjoy the happiest moment of your life with all your friends and family, and of course – your new spouse.
