St Mary’s Heritage Centre is a unique and increasingly popular wedding reception venue in the North East.  A grade 1 listed former medieval church, refurbished in 2008, the building has its original stonework and pillars, blended with modern improvements.  The venue offers a grand, light and unique wedding reception space with plenty of character.

The main hall of the building, lined with pillars, arches and tall windows with ample natural light, makes an ideal reception space. It accommodates up to 110 guests for a banquet reception and 140 for an evening reception.  The natural beauty of the interior can speak for itself, or it can be complemented with tasteful decorations and our in house theatrical lighting. The Chancel makes an ideal space for a bar or smaller reception area.

St Mary’s Heritage Centre is ideally located on Gateshead’s Quayside, with the majestic Tyne Bridge forming a breath-taking backdrop.  As the Quayside comes to life at night and the bridges are illuminated, St Mary’s Heritage Centre offers a vantage point from which to absorb the atmosphere.  Surrounding the building is a grade-1 listed graveyard featuring ornate and ancient gravestones, and a beautiful war memorial garden.  A real unique venue on Tyneside.St Mary’s Heritage Centre
