How I Manifested Love (And Found My Soulmate)

I had been single for quite some time and I knew that I had built up a lot of negativity around relationships.

My unconscious had linked pain to relationships. Up until then I had spent my time working on my latest projects, my book and business ventures, so I had not whole heartedly concentrated on my love life.

Something really shifted for me at the beginning of 2014 and I decided enough was enough. I really wanted to share my life with another, so it was time to dedicate all my energy into finding my soulmate.

I decided to ‘manifest’ him: I set about really making something happen. I decided to workon myself, and become the person I needed to be to attract the type of partner I desired. Next, I really got clear on the type of man I wanted to meet.  His attributes, his height, his nature, how he would hold my hand….

I then started to journal every morning. Initially, my stream of consciousness was very negative, wondering what was wrong with me, and why everybody else had met the one, but then it shifted into the type of relationship I was looking for and how I would feel when I was in it.

Then the craziest thing happened. One morning, looking for a sign from the universe I wouldn’t be alone for the rest of my life, I went for a walk. As I walked back to the car from the park, I saw something glinting up at me from the ground. I picked it up and realised it was a costume jewellery engagement ring. What were the chances of that happening?

What I did next is embarrassing to admit but I started to wear the ring. First it was when I went to bed at night. I then started to wear it around the house. Every time I looked at kitty and mattit I felt happy and loved. I then got really into wearing it, even to the point that I would wear it on the tube thinking to myself – ‘well no one knows that I am not engaged’.

I remember once thinking I had lost the ring and the feeling of panic that spread through my body was immense. I wore the ring day in and out for at least three weeks.  I started to care less and less about what people thought and just got on and enjoyed the feeling. Close friends came to dinner, I would wear it happily telling them I was manifesting my soulmate.

I then decided to take action. I jumped on a dating site I was on and there was Matt. We had chatted a few months before and were planning to meet up, except before that happened he had started seeing someone.

Three months later there he was again, I sent him a message asking what he was doing back and that I thought he had been one of the lucky ones finding the one – he answered it had all turned to friendship, and he asked if I wanted to meet up.

kittys ringA week later the date was upon me, and I had a really good feeling about it beforehand: a strong feeling that this was going to be good. Then it happened, right from the moment I saw Matt I knew he was different, something felt right in my tummy. It was like I could feel his soul. I felt like I had known him my whole life yet we had just met.

Something clicked. They say you know when you meet the one, and yes you do!

Our first date was eight hours, our second nine, and on our second date we decided we would go away together for a week. Our fourth date was a week in Croatia.

Matt literally is everything I ever dreamed of having in a man, and more. He is warm, generous, intelligent. He holds my hand and kisses my neck, he’s quirky, funny, soulful, spiritual, successful and not to mention gorgeous.

I’m so glad I didn’t give up. My soulmate was out there somewhere – I just had to focus on being the best me first. I lost the costume jewellery ring a while ago, but funnily enough, when Matt proposed he gave me a ring that looked exactly like it. We’re now getting married in September!
