The next Royal wedding will no doubt have many knock-on effects on those getting hitched in 2018, from dress styles to themes to venues.

And for those wanting a venue with a royal flavour, it doesn’t get better – or more authentic - than Scone Palace. Situated in the heart of Highland Perthshire, on the outskirts of Perth, the palace is truly a fairytale place – and one steeped in history.

Get hitched where Kings were once crowned.

Get Hitched at Scone PalaceIt’s on these grounds that the Kings of Scotland were once crowned centuries ago. This is also where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert famously spent the night, a visit that led to the Royal Family’s purchase of Balmoral Castle and its ongoing love affair with Scotland.

Set in stunning grounds which are equally beautiful in spring, summer, autumn and winter, Scone Palace - by day a stately home that offers historic tours - provides a unique setting for both ceremony and reception. Brides often choose to have a Scottish piper as an accompaniment, and in the evening the palace approach can be beautifully lit with blazing torches.

Ceremonies and receptions can be held in a number of State Rooms in the palace, all of them complete with stunning artwork and antiques: the palace Drawing Room, Dining Room, the Inner Hall, or the vaulted Long Gallery, which is one of the longest rooms in Scotland.

The palace’s private apartment wing, Balvaird, offers five-star, self-catering accommodation that’s perfect for girls’ only gatherings, wedding parties, honeymooners and family stays. As well as the rooms and en-suite bathrooms, there is a sitting room, fully equipped dining kitchen, and a private cook available.

The Palace event staff are happy to advise on the wedding options available, or create your entire experience for you. Either way, you’re guaranteed royal treatment – literally.

Get in touch with the Scone Palace wedding team either online at www.scone-palace.co.uk or by telephone 01738 552300.
