A three course meal packed with aphrodisiac to get you in the mood and some top romantic tips.

On Valentine’s Day, it can often be tricky to decide on the perfect thing to do. This year, top chef Keith Goddard is sharing his insider secrets on his expert tips to prepare a seamless romantic dinner at home.

Valentine’s Day is about adding a personalised touch to the evening, from serving your partner’s favourite drink to preparing a dish using their favourite chocolate. You don’t want to spend all of your evening in the kitchen so, the number one piece of advice is to keep it simple and let the special ingredients speak for themselves.

‘It’s not just about the food, at Keith Goddard Catering we prepare every element of the evening. Keep the decorations simple – for a classic look, red roses are a given, but I find thinking about her favourite flower and buying that is the most romantic touch.’

The ultimate menu packed with delicious aphrodisiac inspired courses to help inspired the mood on the night ingredients that are sure to inspire love on the night:

Bloody Mary Oysters

The oldest and most famed things to be served on Valentines Day. Head to the best fish mongers near you.

  • Dozen Oysters get them to open them at the fishmongers and then simply top with a dash of tobacco, splash of Worchester sauce, chunk of green tomato jelly and garnish with celery leaves. Serve with a splash of vodka if desired

 

 

Roast Veal with Roasted Seasonal Vegetables

The easiest but most delicious course yet – definitely one to impress

  • Place a joint of veal in the oven – follow the instructions given as cooking time will depend on weight. Leave at least 1.5 hours for this though so do it as soon as you get in. Chop an assortment of vegetables and pop into a roasting tin about 40 minutes before the beef is ready. And serve

Serve with a glass of Amaretto liquor and devour – with crushed amaretto biscuits

  • Beat a large tub of double cream, in a separate bowl whisk egg white with caster sugar. Lightly melt 100 grams of chocolate and mix all the above. Serve in cocktail glasses

To really enjoy dinner don’t forget to lay the table, light the candles, have champagne on ice and some classical music.
