Spring has arrived and at Luella’s Bridal we are so excited about the upcoming wedding season! We have been looking into this year’s bridal fashion and have come up with ideas and suggestions about how you can create each look. From ethereal dresses, beautiful shoes and accessories, to gorgeous hairstyles and the latest makeup trends – here are our top tips for 2017 brides.

This year it’s all about raising the glam factor, with even bohemian style dresses having had a fashion update. Brides are willing to be more daring and as such we are seeing more crop top style two pieces, trouser suits and sexier silhouettes. The cold shoulder is one of the go-to trends this season, along with princess style dresses and sleeker, more minimalist styles. There is a bridal outfit to suit everyone, whether you are a relaxed boho bride, a modern-daydiva, a minimalist dresser, a paradise perfectionist or a timeless romantic.

– BOHOLUXE –

This style is all about a relaxed beach/festival vibe. Think barefoot chic, flowy dresses and messy hair do’s.

Key Trends & Dress Styles
This trend is so popular and there are amazing bohemian style dresses that brides can choose from; we also have a selection of tops and skirts with 70’s style billowing luellassleeves, beautiful rustic style embroidered fabrics, unique hand-beaded detailing, crochet lace, tiers and tassels.

Accessories & Shoes
Should you opt for a bohemian look, we suggest that you style it with a pair of low-heeled strappy sandals or wedges. Why not be more daring and try adding a pair of cowboy boots or even going barefoot?! Accessories to complete the look can be layers of long necklaces made from shells, gemstones, and dream catcher style charms. Our favourites include gold and pearl bangles, handmade crochet cuffs and earrings such as hoops and rustic style beaded chandeliers. We loved the idea of a crochet ribbon hair tie and a bespoke gold, pearl and crystal hair vine; and created our own ribbon necklace and anklet, for a simple yet unique styling twist.mia

Hair and Makeup
Boholuxe has us thinking of a natural look so we would suggest smoky eyes, softly bronzed cheeks and soft nude lips. The model’s own afro style hair works well with our selection of gorgeous hair ties and we have included two of this year’s key bridal hair trends, plaits and the double bun.

– PARADISE –

This style is all about adding some intrigue to your look. It’s more glamorous than the boholuxe trend and has a much more exotic feel. So that would be sexier dresses, floral accents and mysterious-looking makeup and hair combos.

Key Trends & Dress Styles
To highlight this look, we suggest sexy dresses; with low backs, splits, sheer overlay skirts, off-the-shoulder designs and tight fitting silhouettes. The floral elements further emphasise the exotic, desert island feel.

miaWe have carried the floral theme through to the accessories by using a selection of exotic style flowers in the hair. We also tried to stick to a tropical colour pallet by injecting hints of bright yellow and hot pink. We continued the theme of gold shoes, with a thin strappy style that enhances the sexy factor of this look.

Hair and Makeup
To accentuate the exotic element, we suggest a glamorous beehive hairstyle which would also emphasise the cold shoulder style of the dress. Dark, smoky eyes, glowing dewy skin and soft nude colours for the lips complete the look perfectly.
