Planning a proposal can feel like a lot of pressure, particularly when it comes to choosing the engagement ring. However, a recent survey conducted by ROX Diamonds & Thrills and Confetti found the majority of brides are happy with the ring they receive, with over 75% of respondents believing their partner knew their jewellery tastes really well. This leaves almost a quarter of those surveyed wishing their partner had asked for a little help when choosing their ring.
With so many options and different features to consider when picking an engagement ring, you can understand why some people might miss the mark. So if you think your partner is considering proposing, try dropping a few hints on the style of ring you’d like. It’s a tactic used with great success by over 69% of respondents; almost 93% of them ended up with the perfect ring.
Another avenue to subtly suggest is getting advice from friends, family and the professionals. According to ROX and Confetti’s survey, 37% of Brits will get advice from a jeweller and over 23% from family and friends.
A new trend emerging among couples is to share the ring buying or designing experience, with 30% of respondents opting for this approach. For the actual proposal, using a token ring is also becoming more popular as it shows a lot of thought has been put into the moment and will allow for that element of surprise.
