Make your day different

Due to the Coronavirus, we are now working from home, if you need to contact us urgently please email: emmah@euromedia-al.co.uk

No two weddings are ever the same, but if you’re a bride-to-be (or groom) who loves to add little quirky or unique touches, then below are a few of our favourite things to do to add a twist to the traditional big day.

Fuss-free favours – Favours can be pretty pricey so rather than feeling like you’re wasting your money on something for the sake of wedding protocol, opt for something different. If there is a charity close to you or your fiancé’s heart then donate on behalf of your wedding guests and let them know.

Give a home-made gift like jam, this shows your guests that you care and have thought about what to give them as a token, plus you can reuse old jars and decorate them to match your theme. It’s inevitable that you’ll decorate your venue with some flowers and rather than waste them after your big day, why not let your wedding guests take them home as a reminder of your beautiful day and a little thank you for coming?

Print out funny pictures of all of your guests and hang them on lengths of string with little pegs as a seating plan, or you could use the Polaroid pictures as their place settings and let guests keep them as a little token afterwards.

Worthwhile guest books – Guest books are always a nice idea to serve as a reminder of your wedding day,

but in reality it’ll probably spend most of its life tucked away. A coffee-table book on something that has meaning to you as a couple or even a customised book that your guests can sign and leave messages on will get better use and serve as a lovely reminder daily. For a guest book with a difference, have your guests sign a piece of pottery which can then be displayed or used in your home.

Personalisation – Make your wedding more personal to you and design your own bespoke cocktail to represent you as a couple or one that fits with your theme. A midnight snack to replenish your guests after hours of dancing is a fun thing to do and you can choose your favourite snack from cookies and milk to bacon sandwiches.

Social media is such a big thing now that most of your guests will probably spend half the day on their phones documenting all the fun they’re having, so take advantage of all the brilliant photos they’ll be taking and create your own hashtag for guests to use. Make sure it’s unique and fun and display it around your venue so all the fun pictures your guests take will be in one place for everyone to see.

Special spaces – A chill-out area away from all the fun and chaos of the bar and dance floor is great for your wedding guests who need to take a break, a quiet and relaxing area with comfy sofas is perfect for taking a moment to catch your breath. Photo booths are hugely popular at the moment and guests will love having fun and taking silly pictures which you can send out with your thank you cards. If you or a friend or family member has a good quality camera, it’s really easy to set up a photo booth space yourself, just place the camera in front of a simple back-drop and fill a box with some fun props and you’re done!
