Due to the Coronavirus, we are now working from home, if you need to contact us urgently please email: emmah@euromedia-al.co.uk

Brides-to-be planning their wedding can view the Thorpeness Country Club, near Aldeburgh on Sunday, 3rd April when it will be fully dressed for the big day. The free Wedding Open Day will show how the magical venue, which is just a pebble’s throw from the beach with amazing views over Suffolk’s Heritage Coast, can be tailored to suit the bridal couple’s own theme and style.

As well as deciding on the venue, wedding planning includes working with numerous suppliers from florists and photographers to cake makers, entertainers and a master of ceremonies. The Country Club’s wedding organisers will be on hand at the Open Day to discuss a variety of ideas and packages to make your day really special.

With its vaulted ceiling and washed-out bare wood and pastel tones, the light and airy Country Club is a ‘blank canvas’, which can be dressed and decorated by the couple to an infinite number of personal themes ensuring every wedding is unique.Licensed for civil ceremonies, it has two levels, the upper ballroom, which can accommodate up to 130 guests for a sit down wedding breakfast or 200 for an informal reception and the Club Room below, which seats 120.

Dating back to 1912, the Country Club’s striking black and white exterior adds to itscharm and romanticism. It’s fronted by a pretty lawn overlooking the bay, ideal for canapés and drinks, while there’s a second lawn at the back for a large marquee. A path leads down to the wide shingle beach with the sea as a stunning backdrop for photography.

Lorraine Mitcham, Wedding and Events Manager at Thorpeness Country Club, said: “Choosing the right venue for a wedding is one of the most challenging parts of getting married and it makes sense for couples to look far and wide for the perfect place.

“We feel there was no better way to showcase Thorpeness Country Club than by opening the doors for free and letting brides and grooms smell the sea air, look out over the beach and marvel at our classic 1900s country club with its boardwalk floors, high vaulted ceilings and twinkling fairy lights.”

If you book your wedding at the Open Day and secure it with a £500 deposit within 14 days, the Country Club will supply your cake for free. To qualify the wedding must take place before to 31st March 2017; minimum numbers apply.
