“For on trend bridal looks this summer opt for loose and tousled waves as the popular style of the season drifts away from the traditional structured up do. To achieve this season’s desired waves and natural flowing movement, start by washing the hair with Wella SP Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner (£14 and £17, ShopRegis.com) then prep the hair with Designline Volumizing Mousse Pump It Up Styler (£7.99, ShopRegis.com) to lift the roots and create fullness. “Spray a light layer of thermal heat protector Designline Hot Stop Style Primer (£8.99, shopregis.com) over the hair and blast dry with a hairdryer creating movement with your fingers. Next, using a ghd Curve Creative Wand (£110, ShopRegis.com), take sections of the hair no bigger than three to four inches in width and wrap around the tong to allow root stretch. “Curl sections from the front to back diagonally and then begin teasing the curls out with fingers to create a relaxed tousled effect.  Lightly brush the hair through with a Paddle Brush to add natural texture to the curls and really emphasise the desired boho feel.

“Finish this effortless look by dusting the hair with Designline Shine Mist High Gloss Spray (£11.49, ShopRegis.com) and seal with hairspray. “For an extra special touch to the style, play with floral accessories such as flower crowns that perfectly match the elegance and relaxed feel of tousled waves. Or experiment with floral and leaf inspired headbands. Simply place and secure the head dress and then position hair around the accessory to generate a more relaxed, unstructured style.

“Bridal updos will still be popular but rather than a tight structured style, clients will opt for loose braids and twists positioned to one side of the face. Hair at the front should be left loose, creating a soft look that is suitable for both day and night. Loose ponytails with hair off the face also establish an elegant yet sleek look that can be enhanced through the use of floral headbands and hair jewellery to continue a hippy, relaxed vibe. “Ponytails can also be rolled up into an elegant roll at the nape of the neck to take the style from day to night. Simply start at the tip of the ponytails and roll the hair upwards towards the neck and secure with hair grips. A spritz of shine spray will enhance the elegance.  “Alternatively, hair knots are perfect for brides who want to be fashion forward on their wedding day. The look is still laid-back but with an editorial approach. As with ponytails, keep the knots loose and low for a vintage feel with a modern edge.” Keep up-to-date with Regis’ latest news at www.facebook.com/RegisUK or www.twitter.com/RegisUK. www.regissalons.co.uk
