Hawkstone Hall, a magnificent Grade I listed 18th Century mansion, will open in summer 2018. Anticipation is building ahead of its launch, as the venue is set to become one of the most sought after wedding venues in the UK.
The country estate has been purchased by The Distinctly Hospitable Group, making them the fourth owner in the property’s 550 year history. A sympathetic refurbishment is currently being planned to breathe new life into the spectacular Georgian property.
The newly restored venue will soon offer a spectacularly romantic backdrop for an unforgettable day. Wedding guests will approach the stunning property via a mile-long gravel driveway. Upon arrival, imposing double doors will open to reveal a magnificent main hall boasting high sculpted ceilings and beautiful antique furniture. Overflowing with romance and housing floor-to-ceiling windows that invite an abundance of natural light into the space, the venue features an extraordinary double staircase ideally positioned for the all-important wedding photography.
The fairy-tale building itself is a true masterpiece guaranteed to have wedding guests falling deeply in love with its rich history. Guests will be able to enjoy a multitude of spaces including an impressive main hall, elegant ballroom, refectory and Gold Room to name a few. For a magical wedding ceremony, the chapel can cater for up to 250 guests. The charming chapel houses working bells plus a grand organ.
Various beautiful rooms are available for the all-important wedding breakfast. Then as dusk falls, the twinkling refectory is the perfect setting for an evening reception and caters for up to 250 guests. English heritage colour tones and spectacular artworks will adorn the walls of the reception hall, magical ballroom and extravagant dining room. During the summer months, Hawkstone Hall will offer al-fresco ceremonies within a lavish marquee with a capacity of 350+ guests.
The building’s far-reaching gardens are perfect for exploring Shropshire’s quintessentially British countryside. Within its grounds, the estate boasts a rose garden, croquet lawn, apple orchard, ancient cemetery, forested areas, over half a mile of footpaths and a wonderfully romantic ‘secret garden’. Furthermore, following the discovery of a water supply in the grounds, the original 18th Century lily pond, fishing pond and waterfall will finally be brought back to life allowing the gardens to flourish once more.
For overnight wedding accommodation, the main hall will house 12 suites – including the extravagant Honeymoon Suite - all of which will be named after Jane Austen characters. There is also the Grand Bridal Preparation Wing, a custom designed space for exclusive use by the bridal party. Adjacent to the main building, a newer wing built in the 1960s will undergo complete renovations to encompass a further 28 bedrooms. In each room, colour tones will mirror that of the main hall featuring soft hues of duck-egg blue and calamine pinks. Opulent furnishings and luxurious, deep mattresses will add a lavish touch to the bedroom interiors - the perfect place to rest your head after your big day.
