Wedding catering over the last few years has changed dramatically, with many couples opting for a much more laid back approach to the food they serve on their big day. Whether you are going for an informal or fancy approach to your wedding breakfast, if the traditional three course sit down wedding breakfast isn’t for you, you might want to consider laying on a self-service style feast. This doesn’t have to be an all you can eat buffet where you force your guests to queue up for their food, this can be sharing platters laden with food that can be passed around the table.
This is not only a great way of getting your guests that may not know one another to interact with each other, but if you have fussy eaters attending, it saves you from having to worry about what to feed them.

A traditional three course wedding breakfast remains popular with brides and grooms looking to embrace a traditional wedding structure. If this is something you’re considering for your big day but want to add a little edge, mix things up a bit and nominate one of the guests on each table to take on the role of head chef and get them to carve the meat for their table. This is another good way to help stimulate conversation between wedding guests and create a more relaxed vibe.

Afternoon tea wedding breakfasts have been popular for a number of years now, especially through the summer months, with many couples preferring to provide their guests with elegant finger food during the day and hot food in the evening. From finger sandwiches to ‘Drink Me’ brews, fresh fruit scones to ‘Eat Me’ macaroons, there are plenty of ways your wedding caterers can excite your guests on your big day.
Don’t be afraid to do things differently and don’t be afraid to ask if you want something a bit out of the ordinary. Most venues will bend over backwards to accommodate wedding food requests and make sure that all of your guests are well fed and watered.
