Alexis Dove, award winning jewellery designer maker, celebrates over ten years in business with a collection of unique and exquisitely created pieces that are peppered with unusual stones chosen for their story. Thanks to her love of nature and travel – and the influence that has on her jewellery designs - Alexis Dove offers bespoke Fairtrade pieces as unique as you.

Thanks to her first-hand experience and a particularly fervent passion, Alexis has one of the most varied collections of rare gemstones in the country, including ruby, spinel, tourmaline and beryl. Alexis’ true love for sourcing these stones means that a unique collection is always on hand and is a notable draw for soon-to-be-newlyweds traveling to see her from all over the country. Created with techniques such as hand hammering and granulation, ring designs hark back to a more traditional style of jewellery but with a genius modern edge; rose cut diamonds, tourmalines and fancy sapphires in a vivid array of greens, blues, pinks and peaches, are transformed into unique and exquisitely created pieces.

Having travelled to Peru in 2016 to visit two Fairtrade accredited gold mines - Macdesa and Sotrami - Alexis saw first hand the true importance of using gold that gives back to the communities - through proper training, correct equipment, legal hours and breaks, no child labour and premiums that go to the miners. So, along with moving to and now trading in an eco-friendly store on Lewes brown diamond indiaHigh Street, the preferred gold used comes from Peru and soon to be Fairtrade accredited mines in Africa – making Alexis a jeweller at the forefront of the ethical phenomenon.

Some of her favourite stones to mount in a Fairtrade setting are Chocolate Diamonds, which can be found sprinkled throughout her collection. From halo pendants and pear cut rings to earrings and bracelets, chocolate is no longer just for eating!
