2018 has been a year for stylish wedding trends and colour, which is why we are certainly looking forward to 2019. With not one but two stunning royal weddings, 2019 wedding trends will be taking inspiration from both. Following in Eugenie and Jack’s footsteps, many 2019 couples will be opting for more eco-friendly weddings in a variety of ways, especially when it comes to confetti. Natural petal confetti specialists, Shropshire Petals share their top choices for confetti in line with some of the hottest predicted trends for 2019.

Minimalist – Classic designs, simple styles and clean lines are going to be very popular in 2019. Couples will be opting for very delicate choices to complement this trend. We are expecting to see lots of couples going for a ‘no frills’ theme and choosing neutral tones and subtle pinks such as Icing Sugar and Candy Floss delphinium petals for their confetti. These will look fantastic presented in white embossed confetti cones or inside a simple box such as the Shropshire Box.

Bringing the outdoors in – This year, we saw lots of enchanted woodland themed weddings and we expect the trend of bringing the outside inside to continue well into 2019 with large floral displays and the use of trees as venue décor. Confetti doesn’t just have to be thrown outside after your wedding ceremony; many 2019 couples will be having their confetti moment inside, during their first dance. Add a touch of the outside by adding dried flowers to pots and pails to decorate spaces around your venue and complement these with Country Garden LOVE letters.

Eco-conscious – You can’t get any more eco-friendly than using natural petals for your confetti. Stick to your eco-conscious theme by opting for eco-friendly ways of presenting your confetti before it is thrown. Paper confetti cones are perfect as they can be recycled or choose products that can be used again such as pails and baskets. Re-use them during your wedding day for guests to place their cards and presents or place some treats for the children, or use them around the home to display flowers and use as an alternative fruit bowl.

A Shropshire Box can be reused as a keepsake box to store your wedding photos and special memories from your big day. 2019 Confetti Trends
Scent your wedding – Scenting a wedding is certainly a trend that is going to be seen in 2019, from specially created scents to excite the senses to deliciously fragrant florals. Natural petal confetti has its own beautiful scent, but to enhance the experience, spray some of your chosen bridal perfume over your confetti, or spray with a scent to get guests talking by spraying them with a scent they won’t expect such as lemon or strawberry, this will all add to the overall atmosphere of your wedding day.

Colourful confetti – With Instagram playing a huge part in weddings and life in general these days, couples want to capture the most amazing Insta-worthy confetti shots. Set to trend in 2019 is bold, bright and colourful confetti, the more colour, the better. Brides will be getting creative when it comes to choosing their confetti, combining festival vibes, celebrations of colour and colours of the rainbow. Couples will be creating mixes of several colours as well as opting for block colour confetti. We love Tutti Fruity for a colourful mix and Cherry Blossom (pink) or Midnight Bloom (purple) for block colours. 2019 will also feature lots of metallic colours, including copper, rose gold, silver and gold. Complement your confetti by presenting it in metallic coloured confetti cones or pretty rose gold and copper jars for guests to take a handful from.
