Exhibitors share changes they have witnessed over the last 15 years

Weddings will never go out of fashion - but the trends and traditions are forever changing. From dress styles and venue choices, to room decor and invitations, new ideas pop-up all the time and the options are endless.

Bride: The Wedding Show exhibits over 150 North-West suppliers, showcasing the latest crazes and styles, making it easier for brides-to-be to make those big decisions. As the show is returning to Tatton Park to celebrate its 15th anniversary, the exhibitors have given an exclusive insight into the changes they’ve noticed appear and develop over the last 15 years in the wedding industry.

Tips to make your engagement ring meaningful

engagement ring

Apart from the buying of a house or a car, an engagement ring is one of the important and most significant purchases of your life. But for many guys, walking into a jewellery store feels like entering a maze. There are so many variables to judge, so many wrong turns to make and so many questions to ask. How big should it be? How much should I spend? What if I buy a fake? And underlining all those concerns is one single goal: finding the ideal ring, which his fiancé will cherish forever. It shouldn’t look like every other ring because then it'll be just a piece of jewellery without any symbolic value for your relationship.

Getting crafty at the Mansion

Guests

Guests proudly display their hand crafted floral crowns following a workshop and ambassadors’ dinner held by Leeds-based hospitality and event planner Dine at The Mansion, Leeds.

The floral crown making workshop was hosted by wedding floristry specialist Twisted Willow based in Ripon. Owner director Joanna Cairns demonstrated creative uses for the armfuls of flowers, berries and foliage she brought with her - from roses, ranunculus and hydrangeas to rosemary, eucalyptus and ferns.

Guests went on to enjoy a three course ambassador’s dinner which bucked January’s usual abstinence trend by being indulgence-themed.  Matching paired wines were supplied by Hoults wine merchants.

Easily created, simply apply a dark pigmented polish all over the nails such as SensatioNail’s Midnight Rendezvous or alternatively you can try another dark shade such as SensatioNail’s Black Plum which has a tint of purple. This trend is perfect for both days and nights with its edgy gothic twist.

ROYAL HORTICULTURAL HALLS PROMOTES GRAND SCALE WEDDING OFFERING

An historical central London venue is expanding the range and breadth of its offering to brides to be, promoting an extensive list of caterers and services to offset its grand backdrop.

The Royal Horticultural Halls Lindley Hall, which first opened in 1904 and regularly hosts events for London Fashion Week, international car launches and major exhibitions, is a popular venue for luxury and grand scale weddings due to its expansive, prestigious backdrop.   The Hall’s period features, which include an Edwardian glass vaulted ceiling space, and an impressive North Annexe which can be dressed as a bar or separate chill out area, comprise 875 square metres of customisable space (equivalent to 450 guests).

How to pick the perfect engagement ring

rings

When it’s time to get down on one knee, throw out everything you think you know about nerves. Aside from the time and the place, your proposal has to contain all the perfect elements that’ll help your significant other say yes. Whatever your budget or your situation, one of the most important parts of any engagement is the ring.

The perfect engagement ring will vary from couple to couple. For instance, few partners in a couple that is struggling for money will appreciate an expensive rock that gets them into debt. No partner in a wealthier couple that has plenty of money to spend will thank you for a cheapskate ring, either.

Deciphering Wedding Anniversary Symbols!

Wedding anniversary symbols have changed over time and many of the traditional ones would now make unusual gifts. In truth, many of the modern anniversary symbols would also make for some strange face from your partners.

It really is couple dependant, and gifts to acknowledge your wedding anniversary, can be a big deal for some people, and not important for others. Within the traditional wedding anniversary symbols, there are some of the more typical gifts, such as diamonds and gold jewellery, but others are a bit strange. For example, if you chose the traditional option for your 10th wedding anniversary, and bought your partner tin or aluminium, you may get yourself in to a lot of trouble!
