Make the mother of the bride feel fabulous with a bespoke dress

Due to the Coronavirus, we are now working from home, if you need to contact us urgently please email: emmah@euromedia-al.co.uk

Mothers are an important part of our lives, and having had mothering Sunday recently, it’s a perfect time to think about how they’d feel on the big day, especially as a lot of mothers will have waited their whole lives for the occasion and it can be as important to them as it is to the bride and groom. Everyone looks to see what the mother of the bride and groom are wearing as well as the bride, so of course they want to feel extra special and fabulous. The traditional mother of the bride outfit style isn’t one that all mothers want to wear, and to find that perfect outfit can be almost as difficult as buying the wedding dress. So the question then is where do they buy their outfit from if they don’t want the traditional look?

I speak to mothers of the bride / groom on a daily basis and hear first-hand what they’re looking for and why they’ve come to visit my boutique, whether it’s to have a bespoke outfit designed especially for them, to have one of my designs made to order perhaps with design changes or to try on some of the gorgeous dresses we have by other fabulous designers.

Mother of the bride bespoke dressHere’s 4 reasons as to why wearing a bespoke dress will make the mother of the bride and groom feel fabulous.

Be Unique

No one, especially the mothers want to deal with the fashion nightmare of turning up to the wedding in the same outfit as someone else, and there’s always the risk of this happening if they buy their outfit on the high street. Having a bespoke outfit would mean there’d be no worrying about this fashion faux par happening at all. Knowing that no one else in the world owns that outfit and it’s been made especially for them it’s a really special feeling.

Be Different

They’re looking for something completely different, or something that is unique to them. It could be a case of wanting to match the bridal party, have a specific colour, a specific style, wanting to have a certain type of decoration etc. the reasons could be endless, as to why they just can’t find that perfect outfit anywhere. Being able to sit down and have a one to one consultation, having a design sketched out using all their ideas of what they want and picking out fabrics and colours not only means it would be a one off outfit but gives a really big confidence boost too.

Be Comfortable

Comfort. Pure and simple, so many occasion wear dresses are sleeveless, or too short/ the wrong style etc. A lot of ladies can feel very self-conscious and even more so when it’s such a special occasion, so it’s highly important that they feel comfortable in what they’re wearing to be able to enjoy the day. Having a bespoke outfit means they can dictate exactly how it looks, and when the fitting process starts with a toile fitting this really gives them the opportunity to adjust the design of the dress to suit them perfectly.

Feel Confident

One of the main reasons ladies struggle to find an outfit in the shops is due to the fit. Many of the beautiful mums that I’ve made bespoke outfits for struggled because of body shape / size (let’s face it not many of us are a standard size) or perhaps due to a medical reason. I’ve designed for ladies that have been in wheelchairs, had medical issues, asymmetrical body shapes, petite, tall and all sizes from 6 to 32. The one thing that they all had in common was how having something made especially for them that fit perfectly made them feel. Fabulous, Special, Comfortable and Confident.

English Country Vintage (ECV) is the brand name for my own designs of vintage inspired special occasion wear, as well as creating bespoke garments based from my shop, Bella Rose Boutique which specialises in mother of the bride and groom outfits, located in Ashby-De-La- Zouch. Before ECV I worked in the costume industry on some amazing contracts, including as a seamstress on the X Factor the year James Arthur and Rylan Clarke were on the show, I also worked within a team of makers on a BBC period drama, on feature films, on the west end as well as halfway around the world to name but a few.

There are so many amazing bespoke designers around the country that specialise in Mother of the Bride and Groom, but you’d always be welcome to make an appointment to have something made by me!
