The North Lakes Hotel and Spa is unbelievably easy to find, even for me, and without a satnav. It is a great location for guests travelling from north or south of the hotel. We stayed for a short overnight spa break, to unwind and relax in lovely surroundings which was not too far off the beaten track and within easy reach of the Lake District.

What are the most popular wedding hairstyles and hair accessories which you have seen recently?

Wedding styles have ranged from classic look to messy do, from the Megan Markle messy bun to a sleek Chignon we have seen

it all. We are seeing brides having plaits running through the hair styles from bridesmaid to the bride plaits have given a modern twist on a classic do. As always there are so many hair accessories to choose form but hair vines have been popular recently, adding a little sparkle through the hair.

Hotel review: Macdonald Leeming House, Ullswater, Penrith – by Editor Victoria Galligan

If, like me, you live relatively close to the Lake District but don’t get the chance to visit often, then stop. Drop everything. And go! As we drove up through Cumbria and along the winding roads approaching Ullswater, I was reminded of previous visits filled with pottering around lakesides, visiting tea shops and feasting in country pubs. I also found myself wondering why we don’t visit more often.
